The more of those cores your computer has, the faster DXO will process. Without those, you're only getting 1/2-1/4 or even less of DXO's potential speed, but anything at all is better than running on pure CPU (generally 5-10x slower!). They're the AI component of processing, and responsible for the performance boost you get. What you're looking for are Neural (Apple) and Tensor (NVIDIA) cores. Processor performance has little to do with improved processing time in DXO DeepPRIME. My fans were on the while time it was processing and the processor hit the ceiling in terms of use. I assume it will consume a lot less energy as well as I'm running my house off of solar panels and the less I consume the better. My M1 Max MBP takes < 15 seconds on an a7R III image. I know this is anecdotal and I imagine someone will be able to confirm. I would expect even the base Mac Studio to rip through them.
My M1 Max MBP takes < 15-20 seconds for DeepPrime on an a7R III image. For those who have used a Mac studio and dxo pure raw with multiple images how long did it take. I processed them with deep prime and the while time my processor was at 100% I'm thinking the studio will handle this in no time but want to get opinions before I spend this kind of money. I ran them through dxo pure raw first to get cleaner files before moving on to pp and stacking and just that process alone took around 3 hours which is excruciatingly slow. I took 60 photos using an a7riii for an astro image I was going to stack in post. I ask this as I have a 4 year old Intel nuc the hades canyon to be more specific and while it's great for using capture one I ran into a dilema when using dxo pure raw. Hi for those who picked up the base model Mac studio did you seen significant strides in processing time.
